Monthly Finds – March

I am always on the lookout for new and innovative things that make life better than average. Whether it be movies, books, electronics, FOODS, services, or whatever, I want to share my finds with you so that you can enjoy them too. And I think if I (a college student without a whole lot of extra $$) can find life-enhancing things, that is really great hope for everybody else! This month has been a GREAT month for me so far so please keep reading, because I’m pretty sure you’re going to find some cool things in this list.

Monthly Finds – Food

King’s Kimchi

Kimchi is my boyfriend’s and my new addiction. We have this quaint little Korean Restaurant where we live and we go there like twice a week. We order the same thing every time. Kimchi is the first thing they bring out and it goes pretty fast. That’s the only place we were able to get Kimchi until a week ago! We found King’s Kimchi on the shelf at Walmart. It’s a little pricey (just under $5). But can you put a price on your go-to favorite snack? Maybe. Nevertheless, we’ve been going through jars of Kimchi so fast our Walmart doesn’t have any left in stock.

Guys, this kimchi is healthy and sour and spicy and so yummy. If you love Asian food, try this Kimchi. It’s so great!

Monthly Finds – Tech

Nikon D3400

My boyfriend and I decided it was time for us to invest in a higher quality camera for ourselves because some upcoming endeavors of ours really called for it. He got it for me as a Valentine’s Day present a little after Valentine’s Day. It took a while for our little $400 toy (definitely not a toy) to arrive. It arrived right on time for us to get some lovely pictures of snow this March. We went with the Nikon D3400 because it takes great quality pictures and it’s about at our level. We couldn’t be happier with our new camera, and we’re a little obsessed with going out to take pictures now. By the way, if you’re not following my Instagram yet, now would be the time to start 😉

I’m really excited to announce that I will be starting my own business really soon! I literally cannot wait to share more about that. Right now, I’m still working out details, but one step of progress that happened was getting a logo. I found a graphic designer for a great price on Fiverr. I’m not even kidding, I think I got the best deal on Fiverr. For $15 I got a Logo that came with a social media kit, a high-resolution version, a Social Media Kit, a 3D Mockup, a Source File, a printable resolution file, stationary designs, and a vector file all delivered within 2 days with unlimited revisions. This all came from Elitelenadesigns. The lady that did the designs was super nice and patient through multiple revisions. For $15 I could not be happier.

Fiver has a huge selection of freelance work options. It’s a great way to save major $$, while getting the services you need. Also, if you have a skill, it’s a great way to earn money too. If it sounds like something you’d be into, go check it out.

As a college student, I’ve been semi-aware of Chegg for a while through ads. I’ve always ignored them and use Quizlet because it is free. But this semester I’m taking an economics class that Quizlet isn’t really helping me with while on the other hand, Chegg seems built for this class. This was my first time subscribing to Chegg and I am loving it. If you are a college student, Chegg is a serious time saver. It’s helping me to breeze through my Econ class with good grades and a clear understanding of the subject.

This month I made the switch from Mail Chimp to MailerLite. These are two really popular email marketing platforms. Mail Chimp was confusing and the designs were so basic. I switched to MailerLite and the designs are head and shoulders more appealing and it’s also pretty easy to work with. I love playing with all of the features. So, if you’re a blogger looking for a way to collect subscribers and send emails, definitely checkout MailerLite. Plus if you sign up with my link you’ll get  a $20 credit.

Monthly Finds – Movies

I’m not sure if it was me, or the time of the month that I was watching it, but I found this to be the sweetest sweetest movie! I get that not everyone is into animated movies. I had to beg my boyfriend for two weeks before he agreed to watch it with me. Anyway, the movie follows a bull who was raised to fight in a bull ring. However, this cute little flower-loving cow didn’t want to fight and ran away. Through a series of unfortunate events, Ferdinand ended back up in the ring against his will. I won’t say anything more, other than the fact that if you are into cute animated movies and adorable animals, this is a movie for you.

The Case for Christ

This was another movie that really closed in tight around my heart this month. Part of being a Christian is wanting other people to know the love of God. This movie follows a former Atheist who was determined to disprove Christianity by discounting the resurrection of Jesus. Despite relentless historical research, he was unable to disprove Christianity and finally accepted Christ and even became a pastor himself. Throughout the whole movie, his wife was resilient to her husband’s unbelief and remained faithful despite his rejection and angry outbursts.

As a Christian, I didn’t get satisfaction from proving the whole “my side is better than your side thing”. That is irrelevant, and it really has nothing to do with which side is better. Watching the movie did bring me happiness because I find joy in the fact that according to what I believe, a man that was very lost, is now saved.

Monthly Finds – Self-Care

Maui Shampoo

I’m so selective about the kind of shampoo I use. If I had a genie, I would probably wish for long, thick, non-frizzy hair. Until then, I’m going to stay on the lookout for great hair care products. This month I ran out of shampoo, and I decided I wanted something without Sodium Laurel Sulfate. My mom always told me that it was really bad. I complained when I was younger, but now I believe her. So I was determined to find something without it. I found Maui Shampoo and I loved it. The first night I used it I woke up the next morning with soft and smooth hair that smells like a tropical vacation. The packaging of the bottle is super cute, the smell is amazing, and it honestly works really well. If you’re looking for a new shampoo, check it out!

After using on a routine basis, it actually acts just like normal shampoo. I was kind of disappointed about that. But still, the smell is AMAZING! So I’m probably going to keep getting it anyway.

Monthly Finds – Seasonal

Giant Easter Eggs

Easter is tomorrow! I couldn’t be more excited. Having an Easter egg hunt is probably one of the most popular things to do on Easter. I’ve recently discovered the existence of giant Easter eggs. It would be so much fun to add in these in on your hunt. You can put special big prizes in them. You can get them at Walmart. It’s a little too late to get them from Amazon, but it’s not too late to stock up for next year!

Easter Themed Love Coupons

Love coupons are a fun romantic gift idea for any occasion. I’m super excited about this because I actually made them. I can’t wait to give them away to my boyfriend tomorrow. I’m going to print them out and put them in eggs. You can download them, so you too can give them to your special someone. For some more information on throwing an adult Easter egg hunt, check out this post.

I hope you enjoyed some of the cool monthly finds I discovered this month. Did you discover anything amazing? If so, share below, and it might be a part of next month’s monthly finds post! Happy Easter! Remember, He is alive, and life is worth the living just because He lives.

Great list! I’ve been wanting to try Maui shampoo/conditioner . And idk why Ferdinand’s trailer didn’t appeal to me, but I LOVE animated films so I’ll have to watch it 🙂

I’m just really in love with the smell of the shampoo. I haven’t decided if it has changed my hair in any magical way yet (so probably not). And, I just love the story behind Ferdinand. I usually stay away from making political or controversial statements in public, but I’m kind of against bullfighting. I think it’s pretty cruel. And I think Ferdinand was a really good movie in the way it encourages less fighting and more love! I hope you like it when you see it 🙂
